Spring is almost here, and the start of the sailing season. As the weather warms up and the days get longer, TVSC sailors are eager to get back on the water and to enjoy the thrill of the wind in their sails.
Due to some weather related cancellations during the winter series we have started our sailing season early this year. With a perfect spring day and boats on the water, it was a fabulous start to 2025.
At Trent Valley Sailing Club, we are excited to start off the season with a series of events that are sure to get everyone in the sailing spirit. Here’s what is coming up soon:Â
- Fitting Out Supper:  On March the 29th, we will be holding The Fitting Out Supper. This is always a great way to reconnect with your sailing friends, after a long winter, over a meal and a drink or two.
- Summer Series Racing: The first race of the summer series is on March the 30th. The first gun is at 1:55 pm, don’t be late for the start!
- Laser Open Meeting:Â Calling all laser sailors! The second event in the ILCA UK Midland Series is due to be held at TVSC on April the 6th. Even if you don’t fancy sailing, pop down and support our competitors.Â
- TVSC Open Day: For those who are interested in sailing and would like to give it a go, we will be holding an Open Day on April the 20th. Bring your friends and family and come and have a go in a dinghy, with an experienced instructor, and feel the thrill of being on the water. There will also be tea and cake and an opportunity to admire the historic club house and chat to existing members.Â
- Twilight Series Racing: The Twilight Series Racing resumes on April the 10th, racing starting promptly at 6:55 pm. This is a fun and competitive way to get out on the water and test your skills against other sailors.
- Derbyshire Youth Sailing:Â TVSC are hosting the 2nd race in the DYS event on April the 26th. This is a great way for youngster to make new friends and be introduced to dinghy racing. For more information on how to register and attend please click here.
- Trent Tripartite: The annual interclub race between Trent Valley SC, Nottingham SC and Attenborough SC. This year Attenborough SC will be hosting the event on April the 27th. This is a great way to enjoy some friendly competition on the water and see which club can pick up the silver salver prize.
