The club is easy to find on a first visit, if you follow these instructions.  If you use in car satellite navigation do not use the club address or post code, use it to navigate to Trent Lane NG10 2FX and follow the track. If you use what3words, goods.equal.crops will get you there.
Instructions to find Trent Valley Sailing Club from the M1 J25/A52Â
Take the exit off the roundabout marked Long Eaton onto Bostock Lane.
The motorway maintenance depot is on your right, the Novotel will be on your left and the Best Western Hotel on your right.
At the mini roundabout turn right onto the B6002 Long Eaton, Longmoor Lane.
There will be a sharp left hand bend and you will be able to see the motorway embankment on your left. There are houses on both sides of the road and a school campus on the left.Â
At the roundabout continue straight on, signposted Sawley B6002, Castle Donington B6540 and Railway Station, onto Wilsthorpe Road.
There is the Eaton Farm pub on your right and a service road on the left and the West Park.
Continue straight across the next roundabout.
The leisure centre will be on you left and shops on the right.
Go straight on at the mini roundabout – The Wilsthorpe Tavern will be on your right.
There are some industrial units on the left and a petrol station and the train station on your right.
Straight on at the roundabout signposted Acton Road Industrial Estate on to Fields Farm Road.
Pidcock Motorcycles will be on your right, there is a bridge over the canal and housing each side before you come to the industrial estate, continue past Long Eaton Timbers on your left and Tool Station on your right.Â
At the roundabout turn right past the Tappers Harker Pub.
Continue over the railway crossing, then turn right at the mini roundabout, the junction of New Tythe Street and Meadow Lane.Â
There are factories and some houses on both sides of the road. Continue on until you reach a second railway crossing.
Turn right immediately after the railway crossing onto Trent Lane.
Do not turn onto Newbery Avenue, but keep the railway embankment on your immediate right hand side. Continue straight on. You will pass the Rifle Lodge and then progress down the narrow road. The Rifle Range will be on your left, the railway embankment on the right.Â
After one mile (exactly) continue over the cattle grid into Cranfleet Farm, turn left in front of the farm buildings and follow the road to the canal bridge. Please close the gate behind you! Continue over the bridge, along the track under the railway bridge and you will see the Club House. Continue across the grass and over the cattle grid into the parking area. You have arrived!
